Randy Janes is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of History at Western Michigan University. His dissertation title is “Between the Ingenio and the Ingeniero: The Spanish Sugar Master and the Development of the Ibero-American Sugar Industry” and his supervising professor is Dr. Lewis Pyenson.
