General summary

Identifies and promotes relationships between community members, businesses and organizations with University colleges, departments, alumni, staff and students.

Major duties

  • Promotes relationships with community members, businesses and organizations. Coordinates the involvement of institutional partners in strategies and personal visits. Solicits and secures gifts. Serves as as liaison to community members, businesses and organizations.
  • Develops and implements strategies to engage community members, businesses and organizations with University colleges, departments, alumni, staff and students in order to support the mission of the University.
  • Represents Development and Alumni Relations in the community at events, appearances and other meetings.
  • Advises University departments and staff on utilizing community members, business and organization partnerships to support their endeavors and strategize methods of involvement.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Five years' relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
