General summary

Develops, implements and coordinates outreach and financial literacy programs and materials offered through Student Financial Aid.

Major duties

  • Researches outreach, early awareness and financial literacy programs. Develops and delivers presentations regarding financial aid services and programs.
  • Collaborates with University departments in utilizing information from outreach activities. Provides support for special projects and development of communications, programs and materials.
  • Collects and analyzes customer service and staff performance data. Identifies trends and creates reports. Develops, recommends and implements processes and procedures to improve services and staff performance.
  • Advises clients on financial aid and related policies, procedures, rules, regulations and managing their financial aid. Responds to inquiries and resolves problems with authority to grant exceptions to standardized processes.
  • Makes recommendations regarding implementation of rules, regulations and programs and related University policies and procedures. Demonstrates knowledge of University, state and federal regulations.
  • Ensures accuracy of information provided by outreach unit regarding University policies, procedures and financial aid programs and related rules and regulations.
  • Supervises and trains student employees. Resolves personnel and operational issues.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations and guidelines.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
