General summary

Plans and executes regional and national alumni and donor events. Assists with signature events.

Major duties

  • Creates and manages regional and national alumni and donor events, including event planning, promotion and on-site execution of events. Monitors event expenditures to ensure compliance to the budget.
  • Coordinates sponsorship-related collateral, relationships and fulfillment on revenue-generating events. Collaborates and builds event partnerships throughout the campus community.
  • Executes the yearly endowment report project, including gathering spending statements from departments, preparing customized fund reports for donors and reporting distribution and archiving.
  • Assists with signature events and special projects.
  • Organizes watch parties for key athletic events.
  • Trains and supervises student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Two years' relevant experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with event fundamentals, especially pertaining to large, unique or logistically complex events.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Required other

  • Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
