General summary

Manages the operations of student outreach services in order to support recruitment, retention and student academic success.

Major duties

  • Establishes direction and provides oversight for multiple student success programs.
  • Provides leadership in the on-going development of programs, policies, and practices that meet the needs of students, staff, and faculty. Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic plans for the department.
  • Participates in numerous collaborative campus retention efforts and campaigns.
  • Evaluates academic support programs and services using complex data analysis. Utilizes assessment data to improves the effectiveness of programs and services.
  • Collaborates with deans, department chairs, faculty and other academic partners on recruitment, orientation, enrollment management, and retention initiatives.
  • Monitors and approves budgets.
  • Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.

Minimum qualifications

Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.

Required education

  • Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution.

Required experience

  • Three year's relevant experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.

Physical requirements

Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds. 

Working conditions

Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
