health care benefits
Affordable Care Act (ACA) Eligible employees are those that work at the University and qualify for medical and prescription drug coverage under the ACA, but do not have full benefits eligibility. If you are an ACA Eligible employee, you have the option to elect certain benefits during Open Enrollment for calendar year 2022. Enrollment in these benefits is contingent upon employment with the University as of Jan. 1, 2022.
You have two health plan options. A Community Blue Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) health plan is offered and it is administered by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan (BCBSM). The Healthy Blue Living Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) medical plan option through Blue Care Network (BCN) is also offered.
Your benefit elections do not carry over from 2021 to 2022. In order to have coverage, you must complete and submit a Health Insurance Enrollment and Change Form.
