Alice Molvern is the International Partnerships Specialist in the Haenicke Institute for Global Education. She manages the development process for WMU’s international partnership agreements and coordinates communication with international partner institutions.
Molvern got her first taste of travel at 15, when she spent a year in Beauvais, France as an exchange student. The experience led her to pursue a B.A. in International Studies at Michigan State University, where she also studied abroad for a semester in Dakar, Senegal. After graduating from MSU, she moved to Busan, South Korea, to teach English as a foreign language to elementary school students. There, she fell in love with Korean culture, became addicted to kimchi and met her future wife. She taught in South Korea for two years before moving to the U.K. to complete a masters in language and linguistics at Lancaster University.
Having grown up in west Michigan, Molvern was excited to join the Haenicke Institute in 2015 and return to her home state. In her free time, she enjoys going on walks with her family, swing dancing, traveling, and home improvement projects.
