WMU Email is Changing

Webmail Plus to W-Exchange, powered by Office 365

In January of 2015 the University was informed that our email provider was going to discontinue its email services. Beginning in March of 2015, a request went out for volunteers to form a search committee for a new email product. Later that month, a committee comprised of 60 students, faculty and staff was created and began work (see decision process). Based on feedback from students, faculty and staff a recommendation on a new product, Office 365, was presented to the Information Technology Executive Advisory Board, and the board approved it, on September 21, 2015.

Migration teams were immediately formed and in December, the marketing team branded the new email as W-Exchange, Powered by Office 365. All Webmail Plus email accounts will be migrated to W-Exchange during the spring 2016 semester. The migration schedule, support information and checklists will be available on the email migration website, with some items still to be finalized.
