Attention supervisors of student employees: To comply with state and federal regulations, the Office of Information Technology is asking all supervisors of students who use computers in their WMU job and/or access electronic or paper University data, to require these students to complete the online IT security education courses in Elearning.

Information Technology Acquisition Policy: Business intelligence processes are only as good as the data that feeds these processes. In order to ensure that the data contained in information systems at WMU are effectively integrated the IT Acquisition Policy should be closely followed when acquiring any new technology related services or when moving existing technology services to the cloud.

The fall semester closed on a positive note with many of you venturing down to Texas to attend the Cotton Bowl. And speaking of the Cotton Bowl, WOW, what a great turn out by the Bronco faithful and what a great game! As spring semester gets underway, let us all continue to "Row the Boat" by showing our Bronco Pride in everything we do!

Did everyone get a chance to attend ESPN GameDay? WMU was a fantastic host for this truly one of a kind event. Given the inclement weather conditions I thought the student and community participation was exceptional. What a great day to be a Bronco! And kudos to those in the Office of Information Technology who worked with ESPN and with WMU Athletics to make sure that the technology side of the event worked to perfection.

I hope everyone had a chance to participate in one of the many parent orientation sessions held this summer in the main lobby of Sangren. The enthusiasm of the parents was contagious. If the incoming freshman class has half the energy that their parents have, then WMU is going to have a fantastic 2016-17 academic school year.
