Bronco B.U.D.S.

Bronco B.U.D.S. (Building Unique Dynamic Students) is an annual program at Western Michigan University created to promote a college-going culture for over 1,000 sixth-grade students from the Kalamazoo Public Schools district. WMU and Kalamazoo Public Schools have worked together for the past nine years to provide future Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship recipients with an early opportunity to experience being a college student. During this half-day visit, students participate in hands-on activities that expose them to a wide range of possible college majors. They also visit classrooms, the residence halls, and the recreation center before they mingle with university students while having lunch at a campus dining hall.
