Dae Seok Chai (Ph.D., G.P.H.R) is an assistant professor in Organizational Learning and Performance at Western Michigan University. Before his doctoral journey at Texas A&M University, Dae Seok was involved in designing and delivering various training programs, including cultural diversity and leadership, for various types of employees in a large Korean conglomerate. During his doctorate, as a subject matter expert and training designer, he consulted Hyundai Automobile and Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor for the development of several hybrid training programs. As a local coordinator for Korean delegation group, Dae Seok has attended ATD (Association for Talent Development) from 2013 and provided lectures to various audiences. Dae Seok received a B.S.Ed. in Business Education from the University of Georgia, a M.Ed. in Human Resource Development (HRD) from the University of Minnesota, and a Ph.D. in HRD from Texas A&M University. During his academic training, he also obtained several certificates of a) Advanced Research Methods, b) GPHR (Global Professional in Human Resources), c) College Teaching, d) Adult Education, and e) Georgia Educator Certificate.

Dae Seok has three research interests: expatriate effectiveness, HRD in an international context, and leadership in diverse cultural contexts. Within these interests, Dae Seok has published five peer-review journal articles, two book chapter, and 13 conference proceedings, and made 11 presentations at international conferences. The quality of his research was recognized by the Academy of Human Resource Development through its Cutting Edge Award. Dae Seok is currently serving the Academy of Human Resource Development, as a track chair for International, Global and Cross Cultural Issues track of its conference. He often plays tennis and soccer and travels around the world: he lived and visited 19 countries in the world and 18 states in the U.S.
