Dr. Sue Poppink is an associate professor of educational leadership, research and technology at Western Michigan university, specializing in K-12 policy and practice.  She earned a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Teaching and Policy and qualitative methods from Michigan State University; an M.P.P. in public policy analysis and quantitative methods from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in liberal arts from Hope College.  She teaches, among other courses, Doctoral Studies Seminar I and Qualitative Research Methods.  Her research interests include education policy implementation, particular through the lens of team and teacher learning.  She also studies doctoral student mentoring.  Prior to joining WMU, Poppink worked in policy offices at the federal, state and local levels, and served as an elementary school principal and a high school English teacher.
