Waldo Library is Western Michigan University’s main library. Located in the heart of the main campus, we have everything from study spaces to rare books to innovative technologies like virtual reality. You can even move furniture, white boards and large-screen monitors around to create a workspace that meets your needs.

Our library staff is ready to assist you with our collections, spaces, technology or whatever you need. If you have a question, just ask us! Need help with a research project or assignment? Contact one of our subject librarians.

Most books can be borrowed and checked out. Some items have restrictions. Through our library, you also have access to online resources like databases, journals, and subject guides.

Waldo Library offers computing and printing services too. This includes 165 computer workstations as well as printers/scanners that print both black and white and color.

Faculty and instructors are invited to bring students for a hands-on experience using the records, manuscripts and other materials in our unique collections.

Visitors may park in the four metered spaces in the lot located directly behind Waldo Library (Lot 28).

Parking lot permit restrictions are not enforced between 4 p.m. Friday and 4 a.m. Monday. During this time, visitors may park for free in any A, C, F, K or W parking lots.

Guest permits can be purchased at the Parking Services office or online.
