The designated contact person for sponsored and special sessions accepted for the International Congress on Medieval Studies, hosted by Western Michigan University's Medieval Institute, will be engaged in accepting and rejecting proposed contributions and supplying the names and contact information for session personnel—including organizer(s), presider(s), respondent(s)—in late September/early October.
Accepting proposals and Finalizing session information
Our partner in managing proposals for the congress is Confex, an event management service. Session contact people have viewing access to their sessions in the Confex system beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 7. After Wednesday, Sept. 22, they can accept proposals for sessions of papers, roundtables and panel discussions and add the names, affiliations and contact information for organizer(s), presider(s) and respondent(s), as well as submit details of performances, workshops and demonstrations. All session details must be finalized by Friday, Oct. 15.
Paper proposals not accepted
Papers not accepted into sponsored and special sessions are considered for inclusion in general sessions, unless an author indicates a preference that the paper not be considered further.
Reservations for business meetings and gatherings
Learned societies, associations, institutions, publishers, and other vendors may hold business meetings or host gatherings at the congress. Arrangements are made by submitting a meeting reservation (deadline: Friday, Oct. 15).
Meetings and gatherings that are a part of the program for the congress are open to all those registered for the congress. If the event is recorded during the week of live-on-the-internet events (May 9-14, 2022), it will be made available to registrants during the two-week period following the live events (Monday, May 16, through Saturday, May 28). Three times are offered for meetings and gatherings at the 2022 congress:
- Monday, May 9, 7 p.m. EDT
- Wednesday, May 11, 3 p.m. EDT
- Friday, May 13, 11 a.m. EDT
Meetings and gatherings last as long as they last, but not more than 90 minutes. Breakout sessions are enabled for all meetings and gatherings.
