Charles R. Land teaches classes in music education for the Music Department at Western Michigan University. He retired as a public school music teacher after 30 years of teaching experience at the college, high school, and middle school level. He has been a successful middle school and high school conductor of both bands and choruses and has consistently received superior ratings at state and local festivals. He studied trombone with Philip Jameson, low brass with Roger Rocco, and conducting with William D. Revelli.
Mr. Land received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Georgia, his Master of Music degree from VanderCook College, his Specialist in Education degree from North Georgia College and State University, and is ABD for the Doctor of Philosophy degree at Georgia State University. Mr. Land is in demand as a judge for marching and concert bands as well as a clinician and conductor for honor bands. During the summer, he conducts at the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts.
