The graduate certificate program in low vision rehabilitation will allow O.T. clinicians to learn assessment and intervention principles for clients with low vision while incorporating occupational therapy theory and evidence-based research from the vision rehabilitation field.
Practicing occupational therapists who wish to specialize in the field of vision rehabilitation will find value in this unique graduate certificate. O.T. graduate students may also take courses in the certificate program as electives, but it is recommended that they seek the certificate after graduation and after they are working in field.
Courses will be offered online or in a hybrid format. Students will spend two weekends at the Henry Ford Health System’s Center for Vision and Neuro Rehabilitation and Research to complete training and labs for skill competency.
Students enrolled in the certificate program could also continue on to the master’s degrees in orientation and mobility or vision rehabilitation therapy.
Contact program coordinator Anne Riddering for more information on the low vision graduate certificate.
