On Saturday, January 18, the Western Michigan University piano department will host the 2020 Piano Day at the Dalton Center. Please join us on this day of masterclasses and workshops for high school student pianists for an opportunity to work with WMU piano faculty in individualized classes. Sessions run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and workshop topics include:

  • Duo and Ensemble Playing with WMU Faculty and Students
  • Improvisation and Jazz Piano
  • Sight Reading
  • College Audition Preparation
  • Wellness and Music
  • Dealing with Performance Anxiety

Piano Day sessions will be offered by WMU faculty members Lori Sims, Yu-Lien The and Matthew Fries, with a guest lecture by Dr. Lauron Kehrer, Assistant Professor of Ethno/Musicology.
