Dr. Kelly Kohler is a faculty specialist in the Department of Psychology at Western Michigan University. She helps oversee the Behavior Analysis Training System (BATS) lab, which specializes in training students to become practitioners with a solid foundation in the science of human behavior. She also teaches several undergraduate courses in the department:

  • PSY 1400: Intro to Behavior Analysis
  • PSY 1401: Operant Conditioning Lab
  • PSY 3621: Self-Management
  • PSY 3960: Behavior Analysis & Racial Issues

Dr. Kohler oversees the undergraduate (PSY 1403) Autism Practicum, which trains students to provide ABA services to preschool children with autism and other developmental disabilities. At the graduate level, she oversees the supervision for graduate students interested in becoming Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).Along side the BATS lab, she also oversees undergraduate thesis projects (PSY 4990). This is a two semester (6 credit) project. Undergraduate students will be paired up with a Master’s student to complete a project working with a child with autism.
