COVID-19 Information for the WMU Research Community

This guidance last updated on: June 3, 2020

The Office of Research and Innovation is currently supporting essential functions only for faculty and staff. See the COVID-19 Update webpage for the status of all Western Michigan University operations.

Many opportunities are opening up in numerous disciplines for COVID-19/Coronavirus-related funding opportunities and other types of community resources. ORI is maintaining a list on our webpage.  In addition, several funding databases are making COVID-19 funding and resource information available to everyone including GrantForward and InfoEd Global.

ORI Operations

ORI is now limited to focus on essential functions and following the guidance above until further notice.

  • All faculty, staff and students at WMU have access to Webex for conducting online meetings. ORI will utilize Webex to meet with faculty and staff remotely  as needed  and/or requested to limit the need for face to face meetings and to accommodate faculty and staff essential needs.

  • Off campus access to the PAF system. OIT has added a new VPN option, GoVPN. Please install and use GoVPN to access the PAF system from off-campus locations.
