The Gibbs House Fellowship provides Western Michigan University students with the unique opportunity to engage in a sustainability-focused cooperative living arrangement at Western's historic Gibbs House, located near the University's Parkview Campus. Fellows receive paid student researcher positions at the Office for Sustainability and are integrated into office programs and projects that fit their skills and interests.
The Office for Sustainability encourages any student, regardless of their background or experience level, to apply to the Gibbs House Fellowship program. Fellows are a diverse group of students who learn from each other's various skills and passions. Each student's unique perspective contributes toward fostering a cooperative community built around sustainable living.
Fellows move in August 15 and move out May 1 annually. Program dues are $2,500 with half due in the fall semester and half due at the start of spring semester. The Office for Sustainability accepts Gibbs House Fellowship applications on a rolling basis through the 2nd week of January each year.
