Bio: 

Corie Auger is an Adjunct Professor of musical theater voice at WMU, Corie’s teaching combines voice science & exercise physiology to enable singers to build their most efficient, expressive instrument. Corie received her M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy & Performance, where she trained as a crossover performance artist and teacher.  

In addition to her work with Western, Corie also holds a position on faculty with Grand Valley State University and is a co-founder of the Grand Rapids Voice Collective, a collaborative training collective for young musical theater artists. Her students have been accepted to programs like Interlochen School of the Arts, University of Michigan, Shenandoah Conservatory, Boston Conservatory, University of Oklahoma, and Ithaca College. 

She has presented at the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence, currently serves as a board member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (Michigan District) and has been selected as a 2021 NATS Intern Program participant.  

An active performer, she has appeared with companies like Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theater, Opera Grand Rapids, Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and Cedar Rapids Opera.
