We are pleased to announce that we are now taking applications for all of the Office of Student Transitions Student Leader positions. Below you will find a link to the online application, position description and more. Please be sure to read through the information thoroughly prior to completing the application.

APPLICATION PROCESS and DEADLINE:
ANYONE (NEW or RETURNING) interested in applying for one of the Office of Student Transitions Student Leader Positions must complete the online application. As part of the online application process, applicants will be asked to submit a resume. The resume must contain the following information, at a minimum, name, phone number, local address, previous schools (if you transferred to WMU), academic status (FR, SOPH, etc.), major(s) and minor(s), cumulative WMU GPA, honors and awards, and any leadership organizations, positions, and job experience (volunteer and paid) that will benefit you in one of the Student Transitions Leadership Positions.
For assistance with completing a resume, Career and Student Employment Services has a number of resources available including the Career Resource Guide and the Career Zone. In addition, the Haworth College of Business can offer assistance through the Zhang Career Center.
NEW APPLICANTS: It is YOUR responsibility to request two individuals to provide references for you. You can email them the provided link found in the application. Choose two people that can speak directly about your leadership and ability to serve in one of these OST Student Leader positions. *If you are applying for the First-Year Experience Co-Facilitator/Fall Welcome Ambassador position for the first time, and you took the course in the fall of 2020 or earlier, it is highly encouraged to have your primary instructor as one of your references.
RETURNING APPLICANTS: It is YOUR responsibility to request two individuals to provide references for you. A link in the application will be provided to you. Choose two people that can speak directly about your leadership and ability to serve in one of these OST Student Leader positions. * If you are applying for the First-Year Experience Co-Facilitator position for the first time and you took the course, you are encouraged to have your primary instructor as one of your references. **If you are a RETURNING First-Year Experience Co-Facilitator, one of your references MUST be your last primary instructor. ***RETURNING P2P Mentors and Fall Welcome Ambassadors do not need to include references. Your previous work experience will be used as part of the decision process.
RETURNING and NEW applicants applying for the FYE Co-Facilitator/Fall Welcome and eMentor (Peer2Peer Mentor) positions will be required to sign up for an individual interview. You will receive an email message asking for your availability at a later date. Interviews will begin as early as the week of April 5.
RETURNING or NEW Fall Welcome Ambassador Applicants: You will not be asked to have an individual interview. Applicants for just the Fall Welcome Ambassador position will be evaluated by the application, resume and references only.
First-Year Experience applications are due April 25 by 11:59 p.m.
Fall Welcome Ambassador applications are due by July 30 at 5 p.m. or until number of candidates has been reached.
THE APPLICATION CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED ONE TIME THROUGH YOUR WMU LOGIN IN GOOGLE DRIVE AND MUST BE COMPLETED IN ONE SITTING. BE SURE TO HAVE THE RESUME AND NAMES AND EMAIL ADDRESSES OF TWO REFERENCES AVAILABLE AT THAT TIME.
