Samantha Farris, LMSW, IECMH-E®, is a Clinical Trauma Interventionist with the Children's Trauma Assessment Center (CTAC). In her role at CTAC she serves as an assessment and treatment clinician for a grant project with the Kalamazoo County Family Dependency Treatment Court as well as the BRISA Program, which is a partnership program between CTAC and the WMU Behavioral Health Clinic, providing comprehensive family trauma, attachment and substance abuse assessment and treatment for families involved in the child welfare system. Samantha is an Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health specialist, TBRI® Practitioner and utilizes TBRI® and Theraplay® to repair and strengthen attachment between children and their caregivers, facilitate healing from relational trauma, and enhance familial resiliency and community care. Samantha is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology here at WMU to further deconstruct the systems that create and perpetuate traumatization and insecure attachment on an institutional level.
