Personal Meeting Room

Your Webex Personal Room is your own virtual conference space that you can use for meetings at any time.

Use your personal meeting room to meet instantly

Using the Webex Desktop application (suggested method)

NOTE: Webex Meetings does not require admin privileges to install, but your WMU managed system might. Please contact your LAN manager if you need assistance with departmental software installation.

  1. Log in to Webex using your firstname.lastname@wmich.edu email address. You will be redirected to the WMU Login to complete authentication.
  2. Click Download on the left, and then click the Download button.
  3. Once installed, open the Cisco Webex Meetings application.
  4. Sign in using your WMU email address.
  5. Once signed in, you will see your Personal Meeting Room address below your name. Click the icon next to it to copy the address and then share this link with the desired meeting participants.
  6. Click Start a Meeting.
  7. Wait for participants to join your room.

Using the Webex web application

  1. Log in to Webex using your firstname.lastname@wmich.edu email address. You will be redirected to the WMU Login to complete authentication.
  2. Once signed in, you will see your Personal Meeting Room address below your name. Click the icon next to it to copy the address and then share this link with the desired meeting participants.
  3. Click the down arrow next to Start a Meeting and select Use web app.
  4. Click Start a Meeting.
  5. Wait for participants to join your room.

Using the Webex website

  1. Log in to Webex.
  2. The link to your Personal Meeting room can be found under the title "(Your Name)'s Personal Room". Click the icon next to it to copy the address and then share this link with desired meeting participants.
  3. Click Start a Meeting.
  4. Wait for participants to join your room.

Use your Personal Meeting Room for Office Hours

Share a link to your personal meeting room with your students using the instructions above. You can lock and unlock the room to keep students from interrupting another student's session. When the meeting room is locked, new participants will be asked to wait in the lobby.
