Recording Meetings

Recording Meeting from Desktop Application (Meeting Host Only)

  1. Select Recorder
  2. Select Record on My Computer or Record in Cloud
    1. If Record on My Computer is selected
      1. Select Record
      2. Choose Location to Save File and Name
      3. When finished recording, select Stop
      4. Meeting recording is found where you previously selected
    2. If Record in Cloud selected
      1. Select Record
      2. When finished Recording, select Stop

NOTE: Recordings are not viewable until Meeting has ended

Recording Meeting from Webpage (Meeting Host Only)

  1. Select Recorder
  2. Select Record
  3. When finished recording, select Stop

Downloading Meetings Recorded in Cloud/from Webpage

  1. Log in to https://wmich.webex.com
  2. Select Recordings from Left-Side Menu
  3. You will see list of recordings
  4. To download Meeting
    1. Select Download
    2. Save File to location of choice

Add Recordings of Meetings to your class

Uploading an Mp4 to MediaSite

  1. Log in to Elearning
  2. Go to My Media Site
  3. Register if you have not already (You may have to click on the "Add Media" button to get to the registration screen)
  4. Select Add Media
  5. Select I want to upload a file from my computer
  6. Select the video MP4
  7. Name the Presentation in MediaSite with a very clear descriptor such as the name of the week or lesson and the topic. Ex: Week 8 – Geology of the Grand Canyon
  8. Select Create Presentation

To Add the Presentation to your Elearning Content Area (Instructor)

  1. Scroll down to Share Presentation
  2. Select Copy to copy the URL link in the first box.
  3. Navigate to your course in Elearning
  4. Select Content from the toolbar.
  5. Select the module you wish to add it to.
  6. Select the New button.
  7. Select Create a Link from menu options.
  8. Title the link with a very clear descriptor such as the name of the week or lesson and the topic. Ex: Week 8 – Geology of the Grand Canyon
  9. Paste the URL.
  10. Check Open as External Resource. (This ensures that the video will open on any browser.)
  11. Select Create.

To Add the Presentation to your Elearning Content Area (Student)

  1. Save Mp4 (the recording) to your computer
  2. Log in to Elearning
  3. Go to My Media Site
  4. Register if you have not already (You may have to click on the Add Media button to get to the registration screen)
  5. Select Add Media
  6. Select I want to upload a file from my computer
  7. Select the file
  8. Give it a name
  9. Select Create Presentation
  10. Scroll down to Share Presentation
  11. Copy the link
  12. Paste the link to the text box in the appropriate dropbox.
  13. Submit your concise two-page summary as an attachment.
  14. Submit to dropbox.
