Geoecologist expert to speak

KALAMAZOO -- A specialist in geoecology will present a lecture at Western Michigan University Monday, Nov. 10.

Dr. Paul R. Pinet, professor of geology at Colgate University, will speak at 4 p.m. in Room 1118 of Rood Hall. The topic of his free address will be "Geoecology: A Blending of Sciences to Provide a Rational Background for Addressing Environmental Issues."

Pinet, who has won several awards for teaching excellence, currently is writing a book on wilderness ethics from the geological, biological and philosophical perspectives.
