KALAMAZOO -- Theresa Powell, vice president for student affairs, has been selected by the faculty of the Higher Education Program at Ohio State University to receive the 2000 Maude Stewart Award.
The award "acknowledges and honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of higher education and student affairs."
The award will be presented at an OSU reception, which will take place during the National Association for Student Personnel Administrators conference on Tuesday evening, March 21, in Indianapolis.
At that same meeting of NASPA, which is the leading professional organization for student affairs administrators, Powell will assume office as NASPA president-elect. She was recently elected to that position.
She will take office for one year at the conclusion of the national NASPA conference, serve as president-elect for a year, as president for the next year and then as past-president for the third year.
