KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's golf team travels to Allendale, Mich., April 1-2 to take part in Grand Valley State Spring Laker Invitational.
The Broncos finished 11th out of 18 teams at the Springlake Classic, hosted by Northern Illinois, March 10-11, in Sebring, Fla. WMU compiled a 656 score, finishing ahead of MAC opponents Bowling Green (659), Toledo (659) and Northern Illinois (682). Ohio University won the tournament with a 597 score.
"We're continuing to drop our scores and find ourselves more and more competitive within the MAC," says WMU coach Cindy Trout.
Freshman Nicole Chamberlin shot a team-low 161 to finish 33rd overall in the field. She carded a personal-best round of 78 on Saturday. Katie Yoder shot 165 and Erica Bieniek a 166.
