Campus community invited to Cabaret Show

July 17, 2001

KALAMAZOO -- WMU's Orientation Program and the University Theatre present the 27th Annual Summer Orientation Cabaret Show, Friday, July 20, at 3 p.m. in Laura V. Shaw Theatre. The campus community is invited to attend, and admission is free.

The Summer Orientation Cabaret Show is written and produced each year by a cast of students from the Department of Theatre and is presented to all incoming freshmen during orientation. A two-month rehearsal process allows the cast to create a show which they feel represents their own experiences at WMU.

This year's show takes the theme of orientation, "Making Your Screen Debut at WMU," and has created a place called "The Bronco Zone" where the six students live in a surrealistic college world. The goal of the production is to introduce incoming students to college life at WMU.

The Cabaret Show company includes director Shauna Thieman, stage manager Stephen Kadwell,
music director Catherine Walker Adams, sound designer Matt Ferrara, scenic designer Michael Freese, lighting designer Evan Lewis, choreographer Leonard Sullivan, and cast members Billy Bradley, Katie Foland, LeAnne Garland, Alex Goodman, Erich Sommerfeldt, and Allen VanHouzen.

A reception will follow the performance in the Atrium Lobby of the Gilmore Theatre Complex.
