Some e-mail service interrupted this Saturday

Aug. 16, 2001

KALAMAZOO -- Users of WMU "OpenVMS" e-mail accounts will be unable to access their accounts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, while servers are down in preparation for fall semester.

OpenVMS e-mail service will be restored by 5 p.m. Saturday, and all accumulated e-mail messages will be delivered as soon as the servers are returned to full operation.

Not affected by Saturday's maintenance are users of UNIX and GroupWise e-mail services. Modem users will also not be affected.

Affected servers are KANGA and TIGGER, as well as services WINNIE and <vms.cc.wmich.edu>. Saturday's maintenance will also affect users of those servers for POP and IMAP e-mail service, including WEBMAIL users who have set their server to "WINNIE."

Questions may be directed to Richard Burton at 387-5444.
