Oct. 4, 2001

KALAMAZOO -- The WMU Office of Information Technology announced today that some e-mail service at the University will be interrupted for three hours on Saturday morning, Oct. 13.

OpenVMS machines Kanga and Tigger, as well as services Winnie and ems.cc.wmich.edu will be down on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. in preparation for new hardware.

This will also affect users of these machines for POP and IMAP mail servers, including Web Mail users who have set their server to be "Winnie (OpenVMS)." After the machines are returned to operation, all mail will be delivered.

The shutdown will not affect modem users.
