United Way campaign extended through FridayNov. 7, 2001 KALAMAZOO -- Campus United Way organizers have extended the WMU campaign deadline by a week to allow faculty and staff more time to contribute. Originally set to end on Nov. 2, the University's United Way Campaign will continue through Friday, Nov. 9. Campaign organizers report that donations from the University community are at 85 percent of the $215,250 goal. "We're so thankful to everyone who has given so far," says Dawn Vander Ploeg, "But we need one final push this week to make sure we give our community the support it needs. WMU is the fifth largest contributor to the Greater Kalamazoo United Way and they are counting on us to reach our goal." Vander Ploeg, Office of Auxiliary Enterprises, is co-chairperson of the campaign along with Charlie DeVries, Office of Legislative Affairs and Community Outreach. The WMU United Way victory celebration has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 14, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. in the President's Dining Room in the Bernhard Center. For more information or to receive an additional pledge card please contact Dawn Vander Ploeg at 387-3360 or Charlie DeVries at 387-3606.
