WECARE/SADD remembrance march WednesdayMarch 26, 2002 KALAMAZOO -- The fifth annual March March to promote responsible drinking and remember those who have been lost because of alcohol and other drugs will take place 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 27. The event, which is open to the general public, is being sponsored by Western's Community for Alcohol Responsibility and Education/Students Against Driving Drunk, or WeCARE/SADD. Those planning to participate should gather at the flagpoles near the Lee Honors College at the center of the West Campus. A brief candle-lighting ceremony will be held before marchers begin a short memorial walk around campus. The walk will conclude back at the flagpoles with a presentation by a speaker at about 8:30 p.m. In case of bad weather, the presentation will take place in the Bigelow Hall lounge. The WeCARE/SADD student group organizes numerous activities throughout the academic year to promote responsible drinking and raise awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving.
