Seminar students provide music for worship

KALAMAZOO -- High school musicians from Seminar 2002 will provide special music for the morning worship service at Kalamazoo's (Episcopal) Cathedral Church of Christ the King on Sunday, July 14.

For the 34th consecutive year, choral and brass music will be performed by participants in Seminar, a high school music camp sponsored by the School of Music at Western Michigan University. The 40-voice choir will be conducted by Dr. Joe Miller, director of choral studies. The 23-member brass ensemble will perform under the direction of Dr. Steve Wolfinbarger, professor of trombone.

The prelude recital will begin at 9:15 a.m., and the worship service will begin at 9:30 a.m. The sermon will be delivered by Rev. Cynthia Black, rector, who will also serve as celebrant. The Cathedral Church of Christ the King is located at 2600 Vincent Ave., Kalamazoo, just north of I-94 near the Oakland Drive exit.
