Congressional candidates speak Monday at Bernard CenterOct. 11, 2002 KALAMAZOO -- Candidates for the U.S. House of Representatives 6th Michigan District seat will participate in a Candidates Forum beginning at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, in Room 208 of Western Michigan University's Bernhard Center. Democrat Gary C. Giguere Jr., Richard Overton of the Reform Party and incumbent Republican Fred Upton will be at the event, which is cosponsored by the Western Student Association and the League of Women Voters of the Kalamazoo Area. The forum, which is free and open to the public, will be moderated by Jean Gal, a member of the league's board of directors. Each candidate will answer six questions, after which the forum will be opened to audience members. The first hour of the forum will be videotaped for later broadcast on cable access channels.
