'Alehaus Rock' supports graphic arts studentsNov. 12, 2002 KALAMAZOO -- Five popular area bands will play at Kraftbrau Brewery Sunday, Nov. 24, with proceeds from the performances going to support DesignED, the WMU student chapter of the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Titled "Alehaus Rock," the fund-raiser is sponsored by DesignED and Kraftbrau Brewery, located at 402 East Kalamazoo Ave. in downtown Kalamazoo. The first band will begin performing at 6 p.m. and performances will continue until after 11 p.m. Admission is $5 and all ages are welcome. "The groups will perform several different kinds of music," says Shannon Sovia, a WMU senior majoring in graphic design. "All proceeds will go toward tours of design studios in Chicago and New York for WMU graphic design students." Groups scheduled to appear at Alehaus Rock are: Rock and Roll Retainer, Matt Sia, Public Disturbance, Brood and Kiss Me Quick.
