Hong Kong Night features Chinese food and entertainmentMarch 20, 2003 KALAMAZOO -- Western Michigan University's Hong Kong Student Association is sponsoring Hong Kong Night 2003, an annual intercultural banquet, in the East Ballroom of the Bernhard Center April 4 from 6 to 11 p.m. Hong Kong Night is an evening of homemade Chinese gourmet food and entertainment, including game booths, drama, talent shows and lucky draw. Although the purpose of Hong Kong Night is to focus on Chinese culture, students from a variety of countries are involved, resulting in an international effort that reflects the international life of Hong Kong, according to Burgitta Ho, president of the Hong Kong Student Association. The authentic Chinese buffet includes fried Chinese bun, spareribs in brown vinegar, beef in oyster sauce, spicy eggplant and lemon honey chicken wings. Tickets are available in the Bernhard Center Bronco Mall March 24 and 26 and April 1 and 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $14 per person. Hong Kong Student Association members receive a discount.
