Hockey Awards Banquet is SaturdayApril 7, 2003 KALAMAZOO -- The Western Michigan University hockey team will hold its season-ending awards banquet Saturday, April 12, at the Fetzer Center on campus. A social hour begins at 6 p.m., followed at 7 p.m. by dinner and the awards ceremony. Sponsored by the Blue Line Club, the event is open to the public. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the hockey office in Lawson Ice Arena or by calling (269) 387-3049. Reservations should be made by Tuesday, April 8. Head Coach Jim Culhane will present individual honors for nine categories, including the Rob Hodge Most Valuable Player Award and the Neil Smith Most Valuable Defenseman Award. Western Michigan (15-21-2 overall, 13-14-1 CCHA) completed its season March 15 with a first round loss to Northern Michigan in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.
