Oct. 30, 2003

KALAMAZOO -- President Judith I. Bailey will be the featured speaker at a Wednesday, Nov. 5, gathering of the Friends of the Western Michigan University Libraries.

Bailey will discuss "Lifetime Influence: Libraries and Literature," beginning at 3 p.m. in the Edwin and Mary Meader Rare Book Room on the third floor of Waldo Library. An informal reception will follow her talk, which is free and open to the public.

The Friends of the Western Michigan University Libraries also will hold its annual fall book sale from 9 a.m. to midnight Wednesday, Nov. 12, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13.

The event, which will take place on the second floor of Waldo Library, serves as a fund-raiser for the libraries and offers the campus and Kalamazoo communities an opportunity to buy inexpensive used books and resource materials. Prices start at 50 cents.
