Former Ailey dancer in residence this week

KALAMAZOO--Former member of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company,
choreographer and teacher Christopher Huggins, is in residence
at the Western Michigan University Department of Dance Jan. 14-16.
During his residency, Huggins will teach several master classes
to students of ballet, modern and jazz dance.
Huggins also will take part in the upcoming symposium "Survival
Skills and Personal Management in the Arts," Jan. 15-16.
The two-day symposium is part of the Undergraduate Entrepreneurial
Program and will provide mentoring for job preparation and business
entrepreneurship for outstanding students in the College of Fine
Arts. Huggins will meet with dance students to discuss dance
auditions and career development.
