Retirements and resignations approved by trustees

April 19, 2004

KALAMAZOO--The retirements of six staff members were approved by the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees at its April 16 meeting. Trustees also accepted the resignations of five faculty members and one staff member.

The names, positions, years of continuous service and effective dates of retirement for the staff members ending their careers at WMU are: Mary J. Bullock, library assistant, Waldo Library, 20 years, effective May 31; Barbara E. Cook, office assistant, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences, 17-1/2 years, effective April 30; Delores A. Jeffries, carpet cleaner, Physical Plant, 24-1/2 years, effective May 31; Stefan S. Sarenius, library assistant, Waldo Library, 30-1/2 years, effective April 30; Victoria A. Wade, custodial services supervisor, Physical Plant, 30-1/2 years, effective June 30; and Patricia A. Williams, utility food worker, Dining Services, 14-1/2 years, effective April 30.

The faculty members resigning are: Dr. Daniel P. Cassidy, assistant professor of geosciences, effective March 21; Dr. Juanita De Barros, assistant professor of history, effective June 30; Dr. Susan H. Edgerton, associate professor of teaching, learning and leadership, effective Aug. 1; Dr. Carolyn Podruchny, assistant professor of history, effective June 30; and Jacqueline L. Wylie, faculty specialist II in the Bronson School of Nursing, effective April 11.

The staff member resigning is: Dr. Gary M. Kirk, director of the Sindecuse Health Center, effective March 18.
