WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Students sponsor 'Take Back the Night' eventsApril 13, 2004 KALAMAZOO--Women's Equality, a student organization at Western Michigan University, is sponsoring two "Take Back The Night" events Thursday, April 15. The public is invited to a free dinner on the lower level of the Wesley Foundation on WMU's campus beginning at 7 p.m. Following dinner, at 8 p.m., a candlelight procession will form at the Wesley Foundation and proceed across campus. The procession will end at the pavilion in Goldsworth Valley with a brief program. Those who wish to are welcome to join the group for the procession only. In the event of rain, a vigil will be held in the Wesley Foundation. "Take Back the Night" events are organized in local communities around the globe for the purpose of raising awareness of violence against women and children. Women's Equality holds its regular meetings Tuesday evenings at 8:30 p.m. in Room 211 of the Bernhard Center. Everyone is welcome at the group's meetings.
