WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Edgar A. KelleySept. 3, 2004 Edgar A. Kelley, professor emeritus of educational leadership at Western Michigan University, died July 8. He was 64. Kelley was a faculty member and chair of the Department of Educational Leadership from 1984 To 1991, During his WMU tenure, he was instrumental in launching the University's joint doctoral program with Northern Michigan University, and he personally traveled to Marquette regularly to teach in that program and coordinate the activities of the program's first cohort. Before coming to WMU, Kelley served for 14 years as a faculty member at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also taught high school social studies, was and was a school administrator early in his career.
