Deadline for Family Fest registration is Oct. 5

Sept. 27, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Families and friends of WMU students will call campus home when they come to town for the 37th annual Family Festival from Friday through Sunday, Oct. 22-24. The deadline to register for the event is Oct. 5.

Family Festival honors and celebrates the commitment parents and guardians show to WMU and its students as well as involves the family members and friends of students in college life for an entire weekend.

The program begins Friday with participants being able to attend some of the entertainment and athletic events happening around campus. The core of activities takes place Saturday and includes opportunities to gather for breakfast at Mug Shots coffee shop in the Britton/Hadley residence hall and at a special tailgate before the 2 p.m. football game against Northern Illinois University.

Those attending Family Festival also will be able to tour campus and enjoy the Student Recreation Center's facilities at little or no cost.

The weekend is being sponsored by the WMU Parents Association with assistance from the Office of Residence Life in the Division of Student Affairs. More information is available by calling the association at (269) 387-2156 or visiting its Web site at <www.wmu-parents.wmich.edu>.
