Volleyball fans can win free airline tickets

Oct. 22, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Fans of Western Michigan University's Bronco volleyball team can win two round-trip airline tickets to any destination in the continental United States in a drawing at the final regular season home match of the year Saturday, Nov. 13.

Beginning at this Saturday's, Oct. 23, home match versus Bowling Green, fans will be able to register at a designated table in the lobby of University Arena. Registration will continue at remaining home volleyball matches: Nov. 5 versus Ball State, Nov. 6 versus Central Michigan and Nov. 13 versus Eastern Michigan. The winner will be announced between the second and third games of the Eastern Michigan contest. To win, fans must be present at the Nov. 13 drawing and must be over 18 years of age.

WMU's volleyball team will travel to the University of Hawaii tournament over Labor Day weekend 2005. If the winner of the airline ticket drawing chooses to attend the Hawaii tournament with the team, the winner's tickets will be upgraded to allow travel to Hawaii. The airline ticket promotion is sponsored by athletic marketing and by Spikers Club, the Bronco volleyball booster club.

There will be a "Volley-Tailgate" prior to Saturday's 6:30 p.m. match with Bowling Green. Volley-Tailgates feature live music, food and beverages and are open to everyone attending the contest. The tailgate is located just outside the main entrance of the arena. An alternate rain site is located at the south end of the arena.
