University Chorale presents 'Cathedral Classics'

Nov. 5, 2004

KALAMAZOO--Saturday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m., the Western Michigan University Chorale and the Muskegon Mona Shores High School Chamber Singers perform "Cathedral Classics" at Cathedral of Christ the King, 2600 Vincent Avenue in Kalamazoo.

This is the fifth year the choral area in WMU's School of Music has presented its popular "Cathedral Classics" concert. The Cathedral of Christ the King offers a beautiful space to hear choral music.

Under the direction of Dr. Joe Miller, the University Chorale will perform music that also was included in its Oct. 30 performance at the American Choral Directors Association Michigan State Convention in Grand Rapids. Highlights will be performances of "Sonnet 67" by Dominick Argento and "Sleep" by Eric Whitacre.

The Muskegon Mona Shores High School Chamber Singers are under the direction of Shawn Lawton, a WMU graduate.
