WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Free concert features two university bands Nov. 15, 2004 KALAMAZOO--The University Concert Band, conducted by Robert Spradling, and University Symphonic Band, under the direction of John Lychner, collaborate for a free concert of music by American and European composers, Sunday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. in Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University. The concert features guest conductor Dr. Bobby Adams, director of bands at Stetson University in Deland, Fla. Adams is a nationally known wind band conductor and clinician. He will lead the University Concert Band in Lauridsen's "O Magnum Mysterium" and the University Symphonic Band in Elgar's "Enigma Variations." Compositions by Copland, Bennett, Vaughan Williams, and Lukas complete the program.
