'Babes in Toyland' kicks off holiday season

KALAMAZOO--Victor Herbert's classic operetta, "Babes in Toyland," is once again delighting young and old during its new national tour. The beloved family production comes to Miller Auditorium at Western Michigan University for a single performance at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7.

The new updated version of "Babes in Toyland" will enchant the whole family as fantasy and reality are interwoven in a land where toys walk, talk and sing. From the beautiful music to its ending Christmas Ball, "Babes in Toyland" is the perfect beginning for the holiday season.

Written by Alice Hammerstein Mathias and William Mount-Burke, this production of the time-honored holiday musical includes the famous "March of the Toy Soldiers" and "Toyland, Toyland" with additional songs from other Victor Herbert operettas.
