Retirement events set for two longtime faculty members

KALAMAZOO--Members of the Western Michigan University community are invited to attend retirement receptions for two veteran members of the faculty. Between them, Dr. James J. Bosco and Dr. Robert H. Poel have nearly 75 years of service to the university and its students.

Dr. James Bosco, professor emeritus of educational studies, officially retired Dec. 31 with 39-1/2 years of service to WMU. He will be honored at reception Thursday, Jan. 27, beginning at 7 p.m. at Kraftbrau, 402 East Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Dr. Robert Poel, professor emeritus of science education, officially retired Jan. 2 following 34-1/2 years of service to the university. The longtime director of the Center for Science Education, he will recognized at a reception Thursday, Feb. 3, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Oaklands.
