WMU HOME > ABOUT WMU > WMU NEWS Two from WMU in Jackson art showJan. 21, 2005 KALAMAZOO--"The 2005 Jackson Area Show: A Fine Arts Competition" in Jackson, Mich., includes jury-selected works by Western Michigan University School of Art members Eve Reid and Jackie Ruttinger. Ruttinger has an acrylic airbrush painting in the show, "Ode to the American Soldier," which received the Best of Show award at the Jan. 16 opening ceremonies. Reid is exhibiting a large handmade paper construction titled "Ancient of Bay: Fragments." Reid is an adjunct assistant professor of art at WMU, and Ruttinger is director of exhibitions in the School of Art. The show runs through March 24 at the Ella Sharp Museum, an art and history museum, 3225 Fourth St., Jackson, Mich. Winter hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Adult admission fee is $4.
